One of the newest Rhinos, Matt Luzunaris is also our Featured Player this week.
Matt Luzunaris has had a wide range of experiences in professional soccer. At the age of 15, Luzunaris went to England and trained with the Newcastle F.C. This was the catalyst that jump started his career. After returning to the United States for college, he went professional after his first year. He began his career in 2008 with the European Club, SC Schwanenstadt of Austria. He then was sent on loan to Brazil for a short stint only to return to Austria to play for Magna Wiener Neustadt and SK Rapid Wien
Then, in 2011, Matt returned to the States to play for the San Jose Earthquakes. After making six appearances, Luzunaris was sent on loan to the Orlando City Lions. This loan ended up landing him a contract with the squad, where, in 18 appearances, he managed to notch 9 goals for the team last year.
